Obituary for Anita C. Spellman
Anita C.Spellman, 92 (nee Schmidt), of Rutherford, formerly of Dumont passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8th, 2014. Born to Martin & Mabel (nee Reigert) Schmidt in 1922.
Anita lived in Rutherford for 45 years. Before retiring she was employed by Fairleigh Dickinson “The Castle” as their Receptionist and Accounts Payable clerk & Rutherford High School in the Cafeteria. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Rutherford and served as past President of St. Elizabeth Chapter, a member of the 31 Club in the Kip Center and Golden Agers. She enjoyed Bingo, reading, playing 31 and especially her great- grand sons.
Anita is predeceased by her husband John M. Spellman (1970). She will be deeply missed by her children; William J. Spellman, Doreen C. Jablonski, John M. Spellman and his wife Sue, her grandchildren; Kara, Roy Michael, Krista, Kalyn and 5 great-grand sons. She is predeceased by her brothers Robert and David Schmidt.
Funeral on Thursday 10:15am in the Collins Calhoun Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford for 11am Prayer Service, Rev. Robert Browning, Jr., officiating.
Interment in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ
Family will receive friends on Wednesday 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9 pm.
Donations may be made to the Kip Center, 55 Kip Avenue, Rutherford, NJ
