Walter Peter Konieczny passed away on April 24, 2015. Walter K. was born on 10/8/33 to Peter and Celia (Topolski) Konieczny in NYC. Walter is predeceased by his parents, his brother John and Son-in-Law Bruce. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Veronica (Ronnie Kuber), his children, Donna (Jim), Eileen (Dan), Michelle (Jack), Jean (Edwin), Joanne, Maureen (Steve), John (Eileen), his grandchildren, Matt (Katie), Jennifer, Steven, Gavin, Kyle, Lindsay, Edwin, Melissa (Chris), Patrick, Grace, Jacob, Noah, Paige, Ben and Anna, his great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Peter and Hannah his brothers, Peter and Chester, sister in laws - Mary and Norma, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Walter left high school to provide for his family and worked for Brevel Motors in Carlstadt, NJ for over 40 years as a Manufacturing Engineer. He was a devoted son and brother who took care of his parents and his brother Chester. A caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, who loved to laugh and play practical jokes. A talented craftsman and handyman who always took pride in his home and provided for his family. He was always the first person his friends and family would call when they needed help. Nothing made him prouder than the successes of his children and grandchildren. He loved to travel, took pleasure in simple things, watching movies, family gatherings, being with friends, a bottle of wine or two and some gummy bears.
Funeral Wednesday 8:30am from the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home 19 Lincoln Avenue, Rutherford, followed by 9:30 Mass of Christian Liturgy in the Church of the Assumption, 143 First St., Wood-Ridge.
Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, 98 S. 2nd. Ave., Manville, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
