Obituary for Carolyn Sailer (Miller)

Carolyn Sailer (Miller)
Carolyn Sailer, (nee Miller), 73, of Rutherford, formerly of Jersey City, passed away on April 24th, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Regional Hospital in Paterson.
Carolyn was a graduate of New York City’s Eastern School for Physician Aides. She began her career at the Jersey City Medical Center and then served 37 years as a research assistant at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
Despite the lengthy and very difficult illness, Carolyn’s on-going special connection with those she loved never wavered. Without question, it is this bond that brought joy and strength to her life.
This was never more evident then whenever Carolyn had visits with her beloved grandnieces, Emma, Grace and Elizabeth. Their stories of school days or play dates and just the physical presence of those young ones she loved so much brought obvious delight. Carolyn never forgot a birthday or special occasion.
Carolyn is predeceased by her parents, John and Helen Miller. She leaves behind her loving husband, Ludwig (Lou) Sailer, her devoted siblings; Noreen Pope, William Miller, Maribeth Miller Eileen Hayes and Cathleen McGrath. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Bridget Hayes, John Hayes and Matthew McGrath and many close relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends Wednesday 3 to 8pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.
Funeral on Thursday gathering 8:30am in Funeral Home for Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30am in the Church of Saint Mary, Rutherford, Fr. Alex Santora, officiating.
Entombment in Holy Cross Mausoleum, North Arlington.
